What Is Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying happens when hurtful messages, posts, or rumors spread online, and it can make someone feel scared, embarrassed, or completely alone. Because it follows people through their phones and social media, the harassment doesn’t stop when they leave school or go home it can feel impossible to escape. Many teens and young adults dealing with cyberbullying experience anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, or a painful drop in confidence.
Cyberbullying Prevelance
The prevalence and agony of online harassment are demonstrated by the fact that over half of American teenagers have experienced cyberbullying in some capacity. According to Pew Research, 54% of teenagers claim they have never been the victim of cyberbullying or targeting, compared to 46% who have. This graph serves as a reminder that many young people struggle in silence, which is why it's so important to spread awareness, provide help, and create safer online environments.
